Laissez-Faire Leadership Style in Universities’ Faculty while Adopting the Creating Style to Assess the Employee Performance

Abstract

The motivation behind the study was to assess the performance of university employees while using the laissez-fair leadership style in presence of employees’ creating style as a moderator. Laissez-fair leaders provide autonomy to employees for their work so they have the freedom to work in their creative way. The participants of the study are the faculty members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa universities. The purposive sampling method was used to select the respondents while the survey approach was used to collect the data through well-structured questionnaires. The moderation analysis was done by using process-macro model 1. The results of the study demonstrate that creating a style of cognitive style indicator positively moderate the relationship between laissez-fair leadership style and employee performance. This study provides recommendations that faculty needs freedom while performing their job and decision making to practical implication of their subject. Laissez-fair leadership style is most appropriate while making independent decision-making along with creating style is help to do the thing creatively and innovatively.
