Abstract

Solid solutions of Ca1-xMgxTiO3 (0 ≤ x ≥ 0.8) were prepared via conventional solid state route. The microwave dielectric properties and density of the fabricated samples were measured. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns revealed single phase perovskite structured CaTiO3 and no impurity phase. The SEM images indicated dense ceramic with no pores and round shape grain morphology. The dielectric constant (ɛr) increased to 124.43 with Mg2+ doping and maximum dielectric constant was observed for Ca0.8Mg0.2TiO3 while the quality factor (Q×fo) of Ca0.4Mg0.6TiO3 reaches to 2000 MHz whereas pure CaTiO3 posses relatively smaller (Q×f0) equal to 1333.33 MHz. Indicated that dielectric constant is directly proportional to the density of samples. All measurements are taken at room temperature for relatively lower frequency of 2 MHz.
