Kartarpur Corridor: an important step (of Confidence Building Measures) in the relations of two hostile neighbors. This corridor connects the Kartarpur Sahib gurudwara in Pakistan to Baba Nanak Dera in Gurdaspur in India. Both the sites being of immense religious importance for the Sikh community can play a multi-dimensional role in harmonizing Indo-Pak rivalry. On the inauguration ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor, Navjot Singh Sidhu (Indian politician) said that this initiative will increase people to people contact and the relation between the nations will normalize. The objective of the article is to find out its religious, diplomatic, economic importance and its role which it can play in the relations of India and Pakistan. Descriptive and analytical method will be used for interpretation of secondary data.

A number of issues and challenges are involved in building of this corridor as the two governments did not share good gesture still it is hoped that this step will play important part in imparting peace between the two countries. Religious attachment of Sikh community being minority in both countries cannot be denied and hence some of the prominent personalities across the borders stand in front row for establishing of this corridor.

Kartarpur corridor is significant economically too, increase in people to people contact will increase tourism in the area which will be a source of economic gains for Pakistan.  It is estimated that it may yield economic gains of $300 million per year. Not only the visa but other facilities like food, hoteling and infrastructure will make economic benefit.  Even prime minister of Pakistan proposed that it could be a first step towards better economic relations between Pakistan and India.
